Pronghorn Bikes: How Tannus Armour Transformed Our Business

At Pronghorn Bikes, it’s not just about selling bikes, it’s about giving customers an experience that goes beyond the transaction. Jason, the Director of Sales, understands that better than anyone. In Utah’s bike scene, where goat heads and flat tires are a constant, he knew they needed to find a way to keep customers on their bikes, not in the shop for repairs.

In 2022, Pronghorn sold 400 bikes, but 300 bikes came back with flat tires that year. “We had to solve the flat tire issue,” Jason says. In a state where every ride could be interrupted by a pesky thorn, Tannus Armour was exactly what they needed.

Tannus: The Ultimate Flat Tire Fix

For Pronghorn, Tannus wasn’t just an add-on, it was the solution to a pressing problem. “We didn’t want to just sell bikes; we wanted to keep our customers on their bikes, riding without the worry of flat tires,” Jason explains. So, they made the bold move to install Tannus Armour on every bike right from the start. No more second visits to the shop for flat repair. Customers could pick out a bike, test ride it, and leave with everything already taken care of!

This change completely transformed how they sold bikes. Instead of selling the bike and then scheduling a separate Tannus installation, everything was done before the customer even walked into the shop to buy a bike. It’s seamless, it’s efficient, and it works.

Why Fewer Returns and Less Time in the Service Department Matter

The real beauty of having Tannus installed right from the get-go? Fewer returns and less time spent in the service department. Jason sums it up perfectly: “If we’re looking at selling a thousand bikes in 2025, how would we handle that without Tannus?” The simple answer is, they couldn’t. Without Tannus, they’d be spending too much time and money fixing flat tires instead of focusing on growing their business.

By having Tannus pre-installed, customers are much less likely to come back for flat repairs, they just keep riding. This frees up Pronghorn’s service department, so they can focus on what really matters: growing sales, building relationships, and keeping customers riding happy.

Tannus as a Game Changer for Dealers

At the end of the day, business is about making money, and Tannus helps them make money. By solving a major pain point and reducing service department traffic, they can sell more bikes with fewer headaches for their customers and themselves. And in areas like Utah, where the ground is full of thorns, construction debris, or glass, having Tannus Armour isn’t just a nice feature, it’s a must. Pronghorn Bikes is on track to sell over a 1,000 bikes in 2025, and they’ll do it with Tannus Armour on every single one.

Tannus doesn’t just protect tires; it protects the business. It keeps customers riding without interruptions, it builds loyalty, and it fuels word-of-mouth recommendations. For bike dealers, that’s the kind of win that makes all the difference.
